Student Senate
Make changes that effect students!

The Student Senate goal is to increase democratic access to the Association and to provide a broad-based student forum for discussion of salient issues. What was once a gathering of just over 30 students has, over a decade, blossomed into a legislative body of over 150 senators representing a diverse array of interests on (and off) campus. Today's Student Senate discusses current matters affecting students of the University, and it is empowered to formulate the official opinion of the ASUW.

Serving as an ASUW volunteer is a great way to gain leadership experience, build relationships with UW administrators, faculty, and other student leaders, advocate for student interests, and give back to your campus. ASUW has created a new program to ensure that the State Legislature and other levels of government never ignore students. This program, the Political Action Network will harness the influence of campus leaders like you in organizing mailing campaigns, phone banking, and trips to Olympia to lobby legislators.
