Indie Rock Concert
On Thursday, November 30, three remarkable upcoming bands: Tapes 'N Tapes, Long Winters and "Awesome", came together to perform their greatest hits at the UW HUB ballroom at 8:00 p.m. Arranged by ASUW Arts and Entertainment, this exclusive concert was surely one not to miss.. "You don't get an opportunity to see such a show too often," said Abby Waysdorf ASUW A&E director.
"The real buzz band", Tapes N' Tapes is an Indie rock band from Minneapolis which was formed in 2003. Their latest album, The Loon, that was released earlier this year, has received rave reviews from critics who call their music "promising stuff" (Music Weekly). According to Waysdorf, the Tapes N' Tapes is the "hottest band of Indie Rock right now."
The Long Winters are based in Seattle and their latest album, Putting the days to Bed, has also been widely appreciated. "They are our local heroes," said Waysdorf.
